The max length option in the properties for the text area element does not actually change the max value from 4096.
Tested by setting the max value to 8,000, pasting a large document in and then copying the chars out and counting them. 4096 was the result.
we’ve updated our text area max configurable length to around 16000, and the dashboard should now be more clear about that constraint (you won’t be able to set hte max value beyond that)
